Just found this site and hope that someone may be able to offer me some advice.

For the time being I will not name any names, but I purchased a kitchen through a local dealer who has some kind of franchise with a large multi national kitchen maker.
We spent in the region of £15000 which covered Design and Supply.

Since the moment we tried to install we have been dogged with problems.

1st off the units would not fit, and had to be altered.
After altering the granite templaters would not template as there was not enough support.
Designer called out again, made further changes (part retracting the changes made the previous week which were wrong.)

These problems were resolved in the end.

Now the major problem which I am trying to seek some advice on.

Once the units were all up, including Pilasters, Canopy Hood above hob, and tongue and groove end panels we started putting doors on. aagghhh

The doors are a different shade to everything else and looks bad. The kitchen is a buttermilk colour. When we look in the brochure you cannot see any colour difference and we were

never told that the doors may be a different colour.
I have had the designer out a number of times over this and communications have now broken down as he is useless.

First off he said they did not look to bad. We disagreed and he said he would contact his supplier. We also spoke to supplier and explained our issues. In the afternoon he came back

over, saying no problems all bits would be changed. He was putting his head on the block he said!!. He wrote down all the bits that needed changing, and admitted that the colour

difference was there but did not want to say anything to us prior to speaking with the suppliers.

So now things were moving….so I thought.
On Tuesday a sales rep for the suppler came over, agreed on colour differences and went to file his report.

On Wednesday, the day prior to our order arriving we make a courtesy call to check everything coming the next day.
Now we are told they will only replace pilasters and hood. Not the end panels. Apparently within a Colour Tolerance level. You have to trust me when I say it looks bad.

We are looking to take legal action as nothing has every been mentioned about colour differences to us, we still have units that have not arrived.

Ideally I just want the bits replaced as on the whole the kitchen is very nice. But what can I do if they wont budge.

Any advice you can give will be greatly received.

Thanks and Regards
Nick

Nick,

Can you send me a private message via the forum or e-mail naming the company?

Tim.

The reputation of the manufacturer you mention is highly regarded in the industry and if there is a difference in colour

matching then this is a product issue and should be resolved by the manufacturer.

I could point you in the right direction immediately if either of the companies you mention are members of the KBSA. I will investigate early next week to find out if this is the

case and come back to you.

If these companies are not members of the KBSA, then my first step, with your permission, would be to offer them an opportunity to give their response through the website.

I hope this is of help in the meantime and that eventually everything can be resolved amicably between all parties.
Regards
Tim

Thanks for the reply Tim, For the time being I do not wish to have there name

published. I am continuing with my efforts to get this resolved amicably first. Just takes alot of time and effort. If however things do not change then I will gladly see what we

can do through this website and I can post some pictures etc..

Thanks for your help and advice
Nick
