Not really a question this but I thought it better shared! Last September a kitchen was ordered (it consists of 2 wall units, 8 base units, 1 dishwasher and 1 sink unit – not too much there then!) In this there is 1 corner unit. The last of the base units was delivered last Friday (and this is a duplicate because it had already been sent out with the original order in December but got delivered to wrong address!) The dishwasher arrived damaged – now have 2 dishwashers as the driver would not collect damaged d/w as he had no paperwork. All I can say is that it is a good job my customer is in no hurry for this job to be completed as the house is vacant and goes on sale in the spring! how on earth do they make any profit???? |

Sorry Steven, I had to remove reference to the company in this post but it does seem that your customer does deserve some recompense for the poor service provided. |

Tim, Yes, sorry, I did not mean to cause or be the possible cause of problems in a legal sense. I shall remember in future. One other problem I have come across with their kitchens is on the colour matched end panels on the wall units. The pre-drilled holes for the shelves are some 20mm too far forward. This may not sound a lot but to fit the shelf so that it is flush with the back of the unit causes the front to drop off the supports! The answer according to you know who is to drill another hole or 8… Now how clever is that? |

Stephen, No worries. The problem isn’t one of a legal matter. We could, and in some cases do, allow naming of companies on the forum but I prefer ours to be a little different in that we want to offer solutions and not to become a consumer sound off board like so many others. The issue regarding the replacement co-ordinated ends is something that should be highlighted to them and I will offer them a means to respond to it on this forum. It is bad customer service to expect you to rectify a manufacturing fault and I’m certain the powers that be will recognise this. I will update on this as soon as we have a response. Tim |

To update on this post and the problem highlighted below. Someone wrote: One other problem I have come across with their kitchens is on the colour matched end panels on the wall units. The pre-drilled holes for the shelves are some 20mm I have contacted the company, B&Q, twice since the post to alert them to this and fully expected a response which was never forthcoming. I would advise anyone buying a kitchen to ensure this is not an issue at the store you purchase from before they take a delivery. This can easily be checked by a staff member before delivery. Tim |

Tim, Thanks for your efforts in trying to contact these people. We still have an extra base corner unit and dishwasher and even though they have been informed of such they do not seem in any hurry to collect either. Thanks again. |
