I’ve been installing my new kitchen with lots of help from this excellent site, and coming towards the end. Just taken delivery of new integrated dishwasher (Bosch) and having worked out what all the pictures mean in the instructions (including trees and bricks!) I see that Bosch suggest making a hole 100 x 50 in the base of the adjoining unit so that the large inlet valve can be passed through. I don’t really want to make a hole this big. Have I got to or is there an alternative? All other appliances I had in the past have the inlet valve in the machine, not on the end of the inlet pipe. Any ideas would be welcome.

Kevin,
Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately there is no alternative to this with all current models of BSH group dishwashers(including Neff, Bosch and Siemens).

For a neater finish I would suggest an 80mm holesaw cut in the rear of adjoining cabinet backboard or, if there isn’t sufficient void at the rear of your cabinet, you will have no choice but to cut this hole through the base of the cabinet.

Hope this helps.

Tim.

Tim, Thanks for yur prompt reply. I have a gap of 70mm at the back of the unit; this looks as if it might be a bit tight to get the vlave through. What do you think?

Kevin,
Sorry about the late response here and yes, 70mm void is sufficient to feed it through the rear board of the unit.

Can I take this opportunity to ask anyone registering with our forum to also send a quick e-mail to info@kitchensfitted.co.uk to allow us to authenticate and confirm your membership?
As with all PHPBB Forums we are continuosly being spammed with bogus registrees and wish to weed these out in a fashion that allows serious users to receive and contribute good and useful advice on kitchen related matters,

Regards,

Tim Foley.
