Hi, room directly below our dining room. Therefore, I plan to build a dumb waiter to send my culinary creations upto the dining room. Has anyone ever built one from scratch, have any tips or design drawings etc? Just thought I’d ask before sharpening my pencil to design it! |

Hi Gareth and welcome to our forum. building issue that doesn’t appear too difficult to install. I have learnt that ropes and pulleys have now been replaced by a more technical method of raising those culinary delights to your guests. in the USA http://auton.com/content/smartwaiter.html who may export and having just returned back from the States I suspect you might purchase one at a reasonable cost if other comparisons are anything to go by. You must have graet confidence in your cooking abilities Gareth. A dumb waiter in my house would only have a one way operation – sending the mess I served up back down to the kitchen. Good luck. |

Thanks for your reply, I’ll have a look at that website. Thanks, also, for the time and effort it must take to sort this forum/website. Maybe I should install the lift in one of the chimneys so my creations could be sent up one floor for inspection and then could be sent into orbit if rejected thus saving me the ignomy of having them returned to me! |
