Hi I’m in the process for redesigning our kitchen and my question is… can you put a built in double oven into the space which is at the moment an understairs cupboard, as this would solve a lot of space issues.

Many thanks.

Jackmart,

Can you elaborate on the location with regards to accessing the appliance?
For instance, do you mean that you wish to access the oven outside of the kitchen area in your hallway or is the understairs area in your kitchen.
Also, are there any services i.e. pipes, cables, meters located in your understairs area?

Hi Tim

Sorry I was a bit vague wasn’t I! The understairs cupboard is in the kitchen area with no cables or fuse boxes in it. It is just the space under the stairs which they have put a door on to store coats & Shoes but I think an oven there would be much better.
Thanks Jackie

Jackie,
Providing you meet the ventilation requirements detailed in the manufacturers instructuions this shouldn’t be a problem, yet you will have to adapt the oven housing for fitting below the stairwell.

For a minute I did think you’d be pulling the chicken out of the oven whilst other struggle to pass you in the hallway.
