Hi,

Thanks for a really useful forum. I’m fitting a new kitchen as part of a

renovation project, and we have an island unit. It is 900mm wide with a pan drawer one side and some open

shelves

backing onto them. Worktop is going to be granite.

Might be a really daft question but do I need to screw the units to

the floor and what is the best way to do this.

Thanks in advance for help on this.

Algregs,

Welcome to our forum and glad you find it

useful.
Screwing cabinets to the floor is acheived by drilling through the feet of the cabinet. You may need to use a

washer when securing it and although the weight of the granite will

assist in the stability, I would undertake this

out of habit and see it as somewhat of a procedure more than a neccessity.

Hope this helps,

Tim
