Hi, been a long time since I was on here, but I have a few questions which I will ask in separate topics.. Buying a new house (new build) and the sink/tap combo they provide for the kitchen is rubbish, so I bought a new Franke sink. On it there is a small polyeurothane seal all the way round underneath. It is a drop into the laminate type, not undermount. Is this seal the only thing required? e.g. do I drop it in the hole, and clamp up the clips underneath, or do I need to put silicone sealant along this seal, and then clamp it up? Advice most welcome, thanks |

The seal alone is sufficient to seal the sink to the laminate but the exposed cut out must be sealed with either Caskermite or a good quality varnish or paint. Tim |

Thanks, it just the seal seemed very compressable, and not very substantial, but if you say so. Also, where do I get Caskermite from? |

I did use a mispelling here Bluedan but if you put "Cascamite" into a google search I’m sure you’ll find a supplier near you. Tim |

So do I dilute this with water and paste it on, after I have cut the hole? So the seal on a franke sink (if your familiar with this brand) will be adequate, and I don’t need additional sealant round the sink? thanks |

If you’re using Cascamite, yes. Tim |

oops, forgot to ask, would you get this in the powder form or the PVA type glue? |

For ease of use you can use a good quality waterproof PVA. |
