I’m looking for some advice on a design for our long galley kitchen, 6m long x 2m wide.

Basically our design requirement was to include space for a small kitchen table and to make better use of the space than the current one sided layout with everything along one wall.

Through a series of visits to the usual kitchen shops and our own inspiration we have come up with a layout that has standard 600mm units on one long wall. The opposite wall will have 4 wall units as base units with a standard 600mm deep oven housing in the centre of the 4 units. I guess the best way of describing this is a squashed T shape from above! It makes the oven, hob, extractor a feature piece in the kitchen.

We have been talked out of using standard base units on both walls because of the lack of space between them and we want to avoid everything on one wall because we just don’t like it.

Any opinions?
