I am installing a new gas hob.
The distance from the back of the hob to a tiled wall is
40 mm.
Is this allowed or is the distance to short.

Lesley,

I assume that the cut- out is 50mm from the back wall and that the hob when fitted leaves a space of 40mm. This is fine.

I would always advise anyone fitting an appliance to carry out the installation according to the manufacturers instructions which, more often than not, include easy to follow

diagrams.
