Hello,

I would like a glass splashback, I need this to be a custom as it will need cutouts for the plug holes.

some time ago I saw in the magazine 25 B kitchens, someone had had a splashback made from glass like they use in school doors with the wire in…… sounds strange I know but it looked very good with the style of kitchen. it was really cheap too.

can anyone advise on some where, that will not charge the earth. PM me if you dont want to name brands.

All the best

Darren,
This is something I’m looking into at present and there is a flood of companies offering custom made splashbacks but as you say the prices are surprisingly high from those I’ve researched so far.
Should I come across one that fits the bill I may offer the sale of these on our website with price details.
Without mentioning names what prices have you been quoted so far and please detail the size and cut outs required.

problem is it needs to be toughened for a splashback and if it is tempered you can not cut it afterwards. there is a company doing glass splasbacks up to 1000mm that has a special backing so not tempered and cuttable and they do upstands too, company is hafele but there are serious stock issues at present we have waited 5 months and finally arrived

Ozskins,
Welcome to the forum.
I have had dealings with Hafele over the same glass splashbacks and can sympathise with your own experience.
Issues we suffered with were splashbacks arriving damaged and on one occassion it took five deliveries to resolve.
Safe to say that should it occur again I will have a re-think about offering them.
There are a growing number of companies offering glass splashbacks and as they get more popular I’m sure that prices will improve as well as deliveries.
Meantime the search goes on for a company offering the best prices, nationwide installation and the best service.
