Elaine welcome to our forum and I hope we can be of some assistance to you in

making your

choice.
Our Recommended Associates Link page http://www.kitchensfitted.co.uk/links/index.php highlights quality

providers of kitchen related goods and we are extremely discerning

about those we showcase. Although this is our way

of generating income for the upkeep of our website we have, on occasion, refused inclusion of providers who we feel cannot

meet the

standards the consumer deserves whether this be in the quality of goods or of service.

This isn’t to

say that those we do recommend are infallible but we are confident that, should they be at fault, they will act in rectifying

a situation efficiently.

The list is, at present, small but will increase as we determine those who offer the consumer

best value. Of course this has to be reciprocated and not everyone in the industry is

aware of the value or even the

presence of our website. Despite this the ethos of our site will remain to identify cost efficiency as an overall value

encompassing price, quality and

service and those who appear on our website will have to offer this commitment to our

visitors.

To conclude here, I would suggest that you browse the relevant links on our Recommended Associates page, all

of whose goods I have worked with both privately and in conjunction with

television projects I have undertaken. You

can then determine your nearest retailer.

I’m certain you will find one in your area.

Do keep us updated

Elaine,

Good luck,

Tim.

Thanks Tim. I’ve

visited one supplier linked and great stuff but

quote was a bit high. I don’t know if I can say this but what is a

reasonable budget? Origianally we started out with ball park figure of £5,000 (inc. appliances) and assuming I

wasn’t going to be carried away by delusions of granite or corian (and with us doing the fitting). The only quote in

so far is £8,500 (supply only). Quite a bit out of our budget

but we’re not sure if that’s par for the course and

we’re being naive or whether we can avoid going back to MFI/B&Q with our tail between our legs.

PPS has anyone actually dealt with Bella Cucina? I’d like to know if

this is a

vialbe/reliable link.

Elaine,

Perhaps you need to shop around a little more to obtain more competitive quotes but

not at the cost of quality particularly as you are making what you describe as a major purchase,

Someone wrote:

got to last and I don’t want something thats dated or dropped to bits in 5 years time.

£8500 seems

a reasonable figure if you include quality appliances and cabinetry for a kitchen this size but I suspect you may get an even

better quote from a competitor providing

similar quality. I also have no doubts that this figure could be halved by

using a lesser quality kitchen but I believe in getting best value for a long term investment and ultimately

the more

cost efficient method is to choose quality that will last longer and offer you a better return for your money.

There

are many independent cabinet suppliers who do not have an internet presence and combined with efficient and reputable

appliances, you can source your kitchen components

seperately.

Have you had plans drawn up for your kitchen

yet Elaine?
