I am planning a new kitchen and would like to hide an existing boiler. The boiler is an Ideal

Mexico floor standing boiler with a balanced flue, ie is room sealed.
I would like to enclose this within a base cupboard but the front of the casing will be level with the doors.
Can I dispence with the casing? I have looked inside and apart from supporting a panel which carries the temperature control then the casing seems for cosmetic reasons only. I will,

of course, have to make some supports for this panel but apart from that I can see no reason why the case cannot be removed.
What do you think?

For this configuration you wil have to contact the technical helpline of Ideal which is 01482 498663.

Advice on this will not be included in the installation instructions only the clearances and ventilation requirements to adhere to.

Another alternative, whilst keeping the casing, would be to use deeper worktops to overcome the alignment issue.
