No. Many hobs are installed in such a way but I have to remind you Lesley that to install a gas hob you are subject to the strict criteria of gas regulations and only if you are competent to do so can you fit the hob yourself. In short, you are strongly advised to have successfully graduated the relevant acredited course. |

Hi Lesley I agree with Tim. However, if you are still in concerned about the heat transfer, you can purchase a support bracket in the shape of T (approximately 2″). You can then remove the top rail, attach the above support to the back panel of your unit – or top rail if hardboard backed. The drawer runners then attach to the centre post as usual and you fasten them to the bracket with self tapping screws. There is then obviously only the metal runner underneath the hob. These brackets can be purchased from most kitchen manufacturers or hardware specialists. Regards Paul |
