Geoff

Hi,

I

have a freestanding dual fuel oven, in a gap in the middle of my kitchen units. I now would like to change my oven and am

considering a built in/ built under option. (whats the difference?) I have a spare full-length worktop from when the kitchen

was originally fitted, and also a spare cupboard that fills the gap!!

Would I be able to fit an oven in this gap and a

hob on top. If so would I be able to fit a double oven, rather than a single?

I have been told that you can’t get a

double oven to fit a 60cm standard cupboard. And then able to fit a hob. Is this true?

Geoff,

Welcome to our forum.
To clear the confusion a little, a built-in desribes an appliance

that is located in a cabinet housing and a built-under means an appliance that is situated under the work surface. Integrated

is a term to describe an appliance that accomodates a matching door to your kitchen design.
You could incorporate a built

under double oven and a number of manufacturers now include them as part of their range, the Neff U1744 springs to mind but

there are a number of others available.
These models do not require cabinetry and all you require is a 600mm space below

the worksurface to which your hob can be fitted.

I hope this clears up any confusion and good luck with your

installation.
