I have a floor standing gas boiler. The flue going

straight up through the ceiling. How much clearance do I need to have around the work top and how may I fill this gap both decoratively and safely?

Phed,

Very good question. The clearance will be available from the boiler manufacturers and may be detailed in the installation instructions if not call the technical helpline which will

also be listed.

With regard to aesthetics, it may also be that the manufacturer produces a shield for such purposes but if not I am unaware of any purposely made decorative product that accomodates a

flue passing through a worktop.

Improvisation would lead me to approaching a fabricator to make a non combustable shield in keeping with my design, so if all else fails this is an avenue you could try.

Best of luck.

Boiler manufacturers recommend 25mm clearance around flue.
