Does anyone have any experience of hiring independant surveyors to assist in resolving a dispute with a kitchen company?

Lileth,

Had the company been a member of the KBSA then Qualitas acts as an arbitration service should disputes occur although I’m not sure how effective they are at resolving issues.

As I see it, there is no doubt that the installation is incorrect as it currently stands but the dispute may arise in what was conveyed to the company prior to installation and they

will surely state the opposite to your own account. Without written agreement any liability will be difficult to prove.

An independent surveyor acting as an arbitrator will have to be recognised as having authority by both parties for his decision to become effective and only then, I feel, will you

reach compromise.
