Two questions:

Does an integrated, built under washing machine just sit on the plinth without being attached to anything by a bracket? If so, dont they have a tendency to jiggle about?? I have thought about applying a little silicone sealant to the two front feet just to hold it in position.

I have a fridge and freezer next to each other in a 1200mm gap. The appliances are only 595mm wide each, so there is a gap. I havent fitted the worktop yet- thats going to be granite fitted by a specilaist. When the doors shut, the appliances move quite a lot, and the only means of securing them is by a bracket to the underside of the worktop when fitted. I suspect that it wont be possible to screw into the granite. Would I be right in assuming the pragmatic approach will be to jack up the appliances to the underside of the worktop when this is fitted, and rely on this to hold them tight? If Im right about this, does it work in practice?

Frank,
Welcome to the forum.
First I’ll tackle the washing machine question.
Integrated washers are not the most fitter friendly of appliances as there is so little adjustment on both the feet or the door which is fitted directly to the appliance upon drilling for hinges to align up with adjacent doors.
You are right to build a plinth to compensate for the lack of height adjustment and although I have seen a filler applied to the underside of the worktop from the top of the appliance, this appears ugly and a raised platform concealed by the plinth, is the preferred method.
Unfortunately there are no means of securing washing machines to cabinets to prevent movement of the appliance during operation but given the weight of a machine, this will happen rarely and will be minimal and adjustable when it happens.
My feeling is that it shouldn’t take up that much more in production to allow for the installation of some form of bracket that enables fixing to adjacent cabinetry and perhaps there are some forward thinking fitter friendly manufacturers who are already doing this. Bit more research on this will tell me and I will post back if I discover one.
To overcome the problem of fixing an integrated fridge to the cabinetry when fitting stone or quartz tops, install a top rail flush with the adjacent cabiets of a size approximately 120mm deep. You can then fix the top of the fridge/freezer to this.
Good Luck,

Tim
