i live in the SW of

France and offer a range of

property services, recently an elderly couple asked me to match worktop to the existing colour and install an aditional length

in the room for extra work

area,as the end of the surface is next to a doorway they want it rounding off.The worktop

is laminated and i have opted for the thinner type at 30 mm ,my only tools for this kind of

work are limited ie a

b&d jigsaw,i cant afford to buy other kit as this is a one off.I would like to be able to provide a decent finish – so all

advice much appreciated.

Cormack,

Welcome to the forum.

Using the tools at your disposal will not achieve a good

finish but you can try sanding the curve although this will be time consuming to say the least.
Ideally you are best using

a router for the purpose and it may be worth investigating hiring one.

Your next problem will be edging the finished

top and if this is to be a laminate matching edge then you will be left with an unsightly finish due to the radius the curve

takes in

meeting the existing postform edge.
Perhaps you should consider, in this case, cutting the worktop at a 45

degree angle to achieve a more acceptable finish.
