Using a standard carcass that is designed for a microwave and double oven, anyone know what the heights are of the lowest part of the oven (ie, open drop down door height) and the top of the microwave (ie, can it be reached inside safely) ? – assuming the microwave sits above the oven. Also, thinking of using Neff appliances, the double oven is U1524 and microwave B6774, but the widths are different. Oven is 594mm and microwave is 424mm. I can see the oven fits snuggly in a 600mm carcass, but what about the microwave? Lastly, is it safe to use the microwave (and oven come to that) without being fitted inside the carcass. This stems from fact we are moving to a new home that will have no cooking facilities, and before we fit the kitchen out, we need to eat. |

Forget the bit about the width. The catalogue for the microwave was quoating the internal measurements, whereas the oven was external measurements. In fact they are only 1mm difference externally. |

Newkit, Welcome to our forum. Firstly, given the combination you have then I would opt for no greater a bottom fascia/s than 3o0mm -500mm in height dependent on the ergonomics that best suit the average height of the users. This can be a combination of drawers or a single drawer or a door. Tim |
