Wandango,
Is this a model that can be built in?
If so you can purchase a build-in kit for it.
If, however, it is a standalone microwave you should refer and adhere to the manufacturers instructions regarding ventilation space around the appliance and if the size of the aperture allows, then you can place into a housing.

Wandango,
If you’ve allowed sufficient minimum distance in accordance with the manufacturers instructions then this is fine.
As for housings, I’m a little confused as you say it’s already in a housing.
Can you clarify?

its not in a housing just in an opening in the tall larder/microwave unit .the microwave is only a couple of years old so i don’t want to buy a built in one for a few years.i was just wondering if such a lining could be purchase for the opening for now to prevent further heat damage and ear ache from the missus nagging :?:

Wandango,
Do yourself and the missus a favour. Bite the bullet and by a fully integrated combi oven before you burn your house down. This machine is clearly not designed for this kind of installation.
