Hi, We are debating moving our kitchen

to another room in the house to create a large kitchen diner and playroom. However, the new kitchen site would have no outside

walls that can be used for waste pipes/extractors.

Basically, my main question is – is it possible to site a kitchen

sink, dishwasher, washing machine etc. away from an outside wall?

Welcome

Rachey,

In answer to your question – yes, but it will take a good deal of planning and preparation to achieve this

successfully.
Waste services will require siting so that a suitable gradient is achieved for draining. You may have an

underfloor space and for relocation this will undoubtedly help for all plumbing and electrical services to be

moved.

Extractors too, can be ducted through to an outside wall and good planning is important. Boxing in would play a

role in relocation but it’s important to design it in such a way that ifits in with the existing decor of the room/s it

passes through.
