Hi Tim

Well i am almost there; a week off work and the job has gone pretty smoothly. I could not have done it without the advice given in this website. I did cop out on a few things , the

worktops were machined to length and the joints cut by a work collegue of mine( chippy). and he also cut the mitres for the cornice which using a standard mitre and fine toothed saw i

found impossible to get perfect.

Some advice for kitchen fitter wanabees.!!

1) fitting worktops on your own for the first time will be tricky.( mine came in 4 metre lengths a hurdle on its own!)
2) never under estimate the need for good quality tools
3) ceramic sinks are heavy
4) dont give up

Thanks again.

Thank you Chris for the feedback and tips.

With regard to cornice/pelmet mitres, there is no substitute for using a power mitre saw for accuracy.
In addition using glue and spray activator now widely available for the task will ensure joints are closely adhered.
