hi there,

Just it awkward from aesthtically speaking not to have a range hood by the stove? I am

considering placing my stove on the bar counter side. The bar counter divides my kitchen from

the dining

room.

An overhead hood or a downdraft vent can be installed, but it I am not liking how it looks suspended, and also I

wan to save money.

I’ve seen magazine pictures where a hood does not exist. But my concern is aesthetic and perception

of a homebuyer, when I am ready to sell the house.

Appreciate any comments … thanks.

Aesthetics are one thing but the build up of cooking residue in

your kitchen is another and I suggest you install one of the many extractor options available to you if you are to

ensure the wider aesthetics of your design are maintained.

Many options are available and for an island configuration

you have the option of using a retractable version. Prepare yourself for the greater cost however.
