Feel a bit silly asking this but I have no idea about kitchen installation. our hob is totally jammed and along with suspect oven performance I’m considering replacing the hob and oven. Can I put a new hob in the old worktop hole and get a good result or should I be thinking of replacing the worktop and therefore the whole kitchen? |

krl It is possible to replace the hob without replacing the worktops. However it is worth noting that:- 1 The cutout needed for the new hob needs to be the same as or at least within a few mm of the existing hob cutout. 2 If the lip on the new hob is shallower than the lip on the existing hob you may see a shadow line around your new hob where the worktop was previously covered and has not faded, but the rest of the worktop may have.(you won’t be able to see this until the old hob is removed). 3 You will need to use a Corgi registered gas installer.
