Tim, thanks for the info on the jigsaw blades,

I’ll have alook for them next time i visit my local diy store.
your comments on the MFI products were interesting, are they as bad as you seem to be saying or is it a question of comparing a Ford with a Rolls Royce?
I’m thinking of buying a hob unit without a steel surround and recessing it so that is flush with the surface of the worktop, is this a good or bad idea and are there any major

problems?

Thanks,
Peter.

You’ve hit the nail on the head with the analogy you chose to

make here Peter, but it could be worse, not wishing to upset Robin Reliant owners, the contrasts could be even greater by a host of inferior products out there.

Through this forum or through other written content on our site, I have no wish to highlight the inefficiencies or poor quality of any supplier of kitchens but I am passionate about

alerting our visitors what to look for when buying a kitchen. Companies that fall into this categgory will always receive our plaudits for offering the service, products and value we

all deserve.

With kitchens you do get what you pay for and by that standard a cabinet construction of inferior board with hardboard backs, budget drawers and hinges will always cost less than a

producer of quality quality components but in my view they are less cost effective in the long term.

It’s the all round package that matters and those meeting the criteria in all the areas mentioned, deserve recommendation from those of us having the knowledge to convey this to the

buyer.

With regard to your question on recessed hobs I’m unaware of a manufacturer who makes such a product and as for the legality of adapting one to fit in a recess I wouldn’t advise it.

Bit of a long winded answer, I know, but I just got on a roll and couldn’t help myself.

Sorry Peter.
