Firstly, thanks very much for your site – a wonderful resource.

We’ve recently moved house and are planning on fitting a new kitchen. We don’t have a great deal of money to spend, so were planning on finding a good fitter, and then asking them which brand (e.g. B&Q/MFI/Ikea etc.) they recommended and would be happy to fit. Following that we’d determine the kitchen design based on the units from that brand.

a) Does this sound like a good direction to go in?

b) Can anybody recommend a good fitter in the Bristol area?

In our last kitchen, we had a corner base unit in which the (~60cm) door was at 45 degrees to the walls – in plan, like a square with one of the corners chopped off. We liked this because it gave good access to the entire corner, and seems more robust that the various alternatives (e.g. carousel, sliding wire baskets, segmented door). However, doing an online search of carcass layouts, these sorts of units never seem to appear.

c) Does anybody know of a carcass manufacturer who does this kind of unit?

Thanks in advance,

David

David,
Welcome to our forum and thanks for the praise – glad you like it.
We are working closely with an installation service provider who can offer you a cost for fitting the kitchen. The service comes with project management and utilises pre-vetted installers of high quality.
My suggestion is that you first have a design drawn up and then obtain prices for your kitchen.
We can provide you with a cost for this in association with our own cabinet manufacturer who delivers high spec cabinetry directly to your door.
To obtain a cost indicate your choice of door finish and forward the plans to sales@kitchensfitted.co.uk or fax them to 0871 210 2006.

Hope this is of use,

Regards,

Tim
