Hi
Firstly can I thank all contributers to this site for all the information which helped me fit my new kitchen complete

with masons mitres and shaped breakfast bar, I’m very satisfied with the results.
I am now about to fit all the clip-on

skirtings and wondered if there are any clever tips and tricks to this process ie how to accurately markup for the clips so

the external mitres match closely
regards
Andy

Andy,

Thank you for the plaudits and it’s great to hear you used our resources to install your kitchen.

I take

it that when you refer to skirting you actually mean plinth and to undertake this correctly requires you to lay the plinth up

to the legs and mark up, using a combination square, the relevant legs you will use the clips on.
To do this when you are

unable to lay the plinth on the floor to mark the rear side, you must lean the plinth outwards from a vertical position to

allow you to align the square with the leg on the rear side.
Mark this with a pencil, screw the clip central to the mark

and Voila! you can fit the plinth.
It may require scribing first if your floor is uneven but the process is the same

afterwards.

Tim
