We have bought a wonderful 1930 semi that needs a total renovation. We have ripped everything out and opened up the back of the house so we have an open plan kitchen, dining room and family room. We have pretty much designed the kitchen part (although nothing yet ordered, except the black Esse range – like an Aga) and have our existing dining room furniture. We are going to have underfloor heating throughout and would like porcelain or natural stone floor. And this is where I come unstuck….What Colour!! We have 60m2 to cover so we need to like it and it would be expensive to rectify if we do it wrong. So please, some suggestions please for floor colour would be fab.

As an overview of what we have already/ordered
Black Esse Range with Chrome Lids
Light Oak Dining room table and dresser (M&S shaker style) with “Antique Gold” upholstered chairs. (colour is like Farrow & Ball Ciara Yellow if it helps

    Plans for the rest
Island Kitchen in an off white shaker style. Under mounted sink on a large-ish island.
Thinking of black granite worktops (to tie in with black range) though happy to consider something else.

Ultimately I want a fairly neutral-ish kitchen that I can accessorise to change the look – fruit bowl in a bright colour, flowers/plant pots changed colours, cushions on the sofa, possible change to cheapish rugs etc. Not planning to change every week – but maybe every few years.

So to the floor. Do not want glossy modern cream as husband thinks cream, square tiles look like hotels or publi toilets !! Would prefer textured so easier for cleaning:-) . But that is where I come unstuck – please please what would work best.

    Hope this comes out OK.
