Hi - before I start – great site! Now, I’m just about to start replacing a kitchen in my new house (we complete a week tomorrow) and I’m pretty sorted as far as units/worktops and appliances are concerned. I got a Hygena kitchen brand new flatpacked from a friend for £500 which I think is a bargain but it didn’t come with an oven housing (I’m looking at having an integrated type electric oven and a gas hob built in directly above it) and I’ve seen B&Q do what looks like a standard 600mm oven housing for about £35 which looks just the job. My question is – would this be standard for all unit/ovens or do I need to buy a Hygena housing? I’m fairly handy with DIY overall but this is probably the biggest project I’ve taken on by myself (I’ve secured an additional pair of hands over the weekend though) so I was wondering if there’s any general tips that anyone can give? I read with great interest the articles about putting your own kitchen in (nice one Tim) but is there anything else I should know? Cheers for any help, much ‘preciated. Luke |

Thank you for the kind words about our site and I’m happy you find it useful. izes are not interchangeable and you are safest sourcing from the original supplier to ensure a suitable match in both size and style. using the search facility of the forum as well as browsing through the articles. Tim |
