I think you are reffering to a worktop jig but you will also require a router in order to cut out the joints.
Using a router in conjunction with the template will also require the use of a guide bush.
All of these are now available and for a recommended retailer I will send you details via a private message. To have the facility you will need to register as a member.
You will find instructions on how to do this on the forum main page.

:) Firstly, as a newby to this forum, I can only agree with many others before me in congratulating Tim in a marvellous piece of

work – A great site, I wish I’d found before I started my Kitchen project!

I’m at the crucial “cutting of the worktops” stage &,like the Guest above, I would also like to get hold of an ellusive Mitre Jig,

My local Hire Shops can oblige for a very modest fee, but not for another 3 weeks !!!
- has eveyone gone mad?!!

Tim, would you please forward details of aforementioned supplier?
Many thanks in anticipation

Mark,

Thank you for the kind words and welcome to the forum.

At the time of writing the last post on this thread, a company, whose details I was provding by private message, were selling a high pressure laminate worktop jig for £29-95. This was

the cheapest price I had ever seen a perfectly acceptable worktop jig for sale.

More recently however, I have discovered that they are no longer available and the manufacturer has ceased making them.
Strange, I know. I directed 11 visitors in 4 days to the seller after including details in our worktop article.

Ah well, if I come across another such jig at a reasonable cost I will post details. Until then I’m afraid the cheapest jig I know of is selling at over three times the cost.

If anyone does know of a cheap priced worktop jig please let us know by e-mail at info@kitchensfitted.co.uk

Worktop jigs

are available from Screwfix 0500414141, http://www.screwfix.com all tools etc are next day delivery.

I would not recommend buying the router over the internet or mail order. With any power tools and some hand tools it is far better to buy from a tool shop. This way you can try the

tool for how it feels to handle, weight of it etc.
