Hi,

I’m upgrading a kitchen and don’t know whether i should go for a good quality laminate work top or

one of the many other more expensive types.

I intend to sell the property in a couple of years. It’s a detachd

bungalow. 3 bed, soon to be 5 bed. Finished value approx 300k. just maple type units and a stainless steel 1 and a half sink.

stand alone appliances.

I can’t see the point in shelling out 1k on a granite worktop, but know i shouldn’t get

something cheap and nasty , or it will drag the whole kitchen down.

I’ve searchd through threads and read the worktop

survey notice.

I guss I’m looking fo a reasonable quality poperty developer type of worktop. something that looks the

part , easy maintenance , but doesn’t cost the earth. But I’m struggling to decide.

thoughts?

v6vwcb,

It’s ironic that you sjhould ask this questions because I

have been involved in discussions with a company today regarding the sale of one such surface over this website.
The

surface in question, which for the time being I will not name, requires a little more of my research before I feel comfortable

in offering quotation on it but I expect progress in this direction to be fairly quick.

I still remain a little dubious

because a rival surface caused a number of problems in the USA such that it was removed from sale but I am assured by the UK

distributors that the surface, a 3mm solid surface offering seamless joints and integrated sinks, has no similarities and has

achieved great feedback on both cost and quality.

Watch this space for further info.
