Hi – great site :)
Hope you can help me….
In the fitting instructions for my kitchen it says that wine racks are attached to the adjacent units. However, in my design the wine racks are at the end next to the wall, one is at

base unit level and between the wall and built under oven, the other is a high unit between wall and oven hood.
To install the high one I guess I should just scew through it into the back wall and try to cover the holes with blanking plates?
It’s the base level one I’m more concerned about since it needs to sit forward in order to line up with the oven and other units. I though of attaching it to the side wall using

brackets on the back but would this be enough support in conjunction with the attachment to the oven?
Is it worth trying to support it from underneath somehow?
Thanks.
Scott.

Wine racks are generally

300mm deep and to support the worktop in a stand alone configuration I would suggest a batten fixed to the rear and returned if it is adjacent a side wall. To support it off the floor

you can attach plinth legs set back the same distance as your base cabinets to allow the plinth to continue under the wine rack.
If you are unable to fix it to an adjacent cabinet then you have no alternative but to fix it to the worktop through the top of the wine rack.
If the gable of the wine rack is visible attach an end panel the same depth as the base cabinets and fix the panel to the wall usind angle brackets.

For the wall unit application, you will need to fix it to the rear wall through the back board of the unit. Use matching cover caps to conceal the fixings.
Alteratively you can fix an angle bracket to the top and bottom unsupported gables and through the wall using 60mm x 8 guage screws. Use a temporary support batten to ensure

alignment and level with your other wall units.

Good luck.

Great advice, thanks very much.
I managed to fix the bottom to the wall using a batten as you suggested and then fixed the oven to it. The high one I used 2 long screws at the top and 2 at the bottom, concealing

them by positioning them close to the shelves out of sight – they were very hard to tighten but the effect is good!

Thanks again !
:)
