I’m trying to understand how much worktop overhang i

want on my end base cabinet. My Kitchen supplier recommends a flush finish to the side of a cabinet. I think from your articles it suggests 20mm(?).

Could anyone advise what needs to be considered to determine the worktop overhang amount to the side of an end cabinet? Perhaps this will enable me to resolve this issue as i don’t

yet understand what the overhang is really for.

Appreciate any response.

An overhang at the end of a run of units is

advisable merely for aesthetical reasons.

A flush finish would accentuate the visibility of the join but if it is your preference then it isn’t wrong, just more unsightly in my opinion.
