i have just finished fitting my new worktops, altough the over all job has not gone to plan i,am disappointed with the mitre joint i made with a silverline jig, a router and even a whole day to practice, i just could,nt get the two work tops to join very well, i wander if there is any one else who has the same experience with silverline jigs the reason i,m asking is that a few people have said i should have brought a differant brand of jig i have also noted that on ebay people selling jigs seem to make a point of explaining there product is not a silverline jig Tim01 |

Tim, Sorry for the delay in responding here and my understanding is that worktops jigs are subject to the same quality issues as most other products in that you do get what you pay for. However if you were using the jig for the first time I would not neccesarily say that the jig was the cause unless it had been damaged previously. After all it is only the guide for the main tool, the router. Resilience is important for continual or regular use and this is perhaps the moredistinguishing factor when selling items, which seems to explain the need to do this on e-bay. |
