New Registration Scheme for Installers

Postby timfoley on Tue Sep 29, 2009 11:21 am

October sees the launch of a new Indusrty Standards Register for the KBB sector, concentrating efforts initially on kitchen, bedroom and bathroom Installers but knowing little about the costs and how it will be implemented as yet I am unable to form opinion.
We all wish to see standards improve and for the KBB sector to become an innovator that attracts consumers who have greater assurance of quality standards than they previously have but the rubricks of how it will operate is how it will be judged both inside and outside of the industry.
It would be interesting to hear more from those who will run the register and to hear more on the criteria for inclusion, whether they have plans for youth training and of course the costs involved. Also, how will the registration scheme be distinguished from membership of iKBBI?
It would be good for those who know the answers to bring us up to speed on the initiative and to then hear the thoughts of installers who are eing asked to register their cabinetry skills.
