Deep Wall Units

Hi,

I'm hoping to get the benefit of your experience.

My wall units on one side have to be deep to accommodate a combi boiler, meaning they protrude 420mm from the wall. The existing worktop is also quite deep (720mm from the wall), which may have been designed either to accomodate pipes at the back or to take account of the deeper wall units above.

Because it is already a narrow kitchen, my original idea ...

UPSTANDS & HOBS

I am designing a tightly-constrained kitchen for an all-electric flat, ie the hob will be ceramic. What's the regulation for the use of a wood upstand behind. I have space for the cooker to be about 100mm from the back wall - does this make a difference to whether a wood upstand would be permitted.

Thank you.

built in oven isolator location

Hi. This is more of an electrical question.

I have a set of units along a whole wall with 2 built in ovens. There is an island unit with a hob, sink and dishwasher.
Below the ovens are drawers. To the side are pull out larders.

Where should the oven isolators be placed? Some sparkies have visited and said above the ovens in the cupboard.
Some have said in the sink cupboard, along with isolators/grids for ...

Designing around a serving hatch - advice please

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and just looking for a bit of advice or ideas. I have a serving hatch from my kitchen through to my dining room. At the moment it's 400mm square and neither use nor ornament. I'm in a bit of a quandry as to whether i should open it up to create a link between the kitchen and dining room so that when you are cooking you can still ...

washing machine pipework

hi there,

I'm currently planning a new kitchen for my flat. One thing that would make the kitchen layout much better would be to install a washing machine below the counter and have a fridge above. This would free up a lot of space but would rely on running the washing machine pipework behind the oven to get back to the water and drainage.

I guess this is a question for the pros, would you ...

DESIGN SOFTWARE LICENCE

I used to design, sell and install kitchens. For the design element i purchased Articad pro, i have now decided that i just want to concentrate on the installation of kitchens. I therefore have surplus to requirements a licence for articad, which when i asked articad about transferring the licence to another person articad have told me they want £1200 for the privelage (even though i have bought it!). Has anyone had experience of transferring ...

Service space behind built-in cooker

I'm attempting to remodel my kitchen, moving the cooker, sink etc around.
This means that the waste, central heating and mains water pipes would all need to run behind the built-under cooker (concrete floors and solid walls rule these out as alternative routes). Is this feasible?

Microwave and hood in wall unit????

I have small kitchen and was going to go with a chimney hood above a gas hob, however I'm a little concerned about giving all that space to the hood. Was wondering if it would be possible to house a built in microwave + telescopic hood above the hob. If so what kind of unit would I need to house it? I'm getting a Wickes kitchen and they only do 720mm wall units or bridging ...
