Hi its my first post and I would like to know if it is possible to protect a base unit end panel from the heat of a cooker.

I am having a new kitchen fitted in, had a guy come today and give a quote. I need to buy a Free range cooker ALL gas, so gas cooker and gas oven. NOTHING electrical about it.

Our kitchen fitters have fitted for us oak worktops with an oak upstand and no tiles. The upstand has been joined to the worktops, but it has not been completely sealed at the wall - where the wall isn't quite flat, or the upstand is slightly bowed, there is a gap behind the upstand which is 2-3mm wide in places. We moved into a new build property just over 3 years ago and the supplied kitchen was from Nobilia.

We have found the kitchen to be of poor design and when asking for extra units were quoted silly money from the Kuchenhaus chain of Nobilia shops.

I am buying a new electric built in double oven. The specification drawing states that the cabinet aperture should be 560mm+10 wide.
Does this mean that the oven casing is 560mm wide and that 10mm is left for ease of fitting or ventilation?
