New build - extortionate price integrated appliance

Hello

We are buying a new build and they want extortionate prices to put in integrated appliances, we don't mind having a free standing fridge freezer but would like a dishwasher and washing machine integrated. If we ask the builders to leave gaps with plumbing to fit free standing appliances will we be able to fit in integrated ones to the gaps ourselves, I assume the gaps will be the standard 600mm. I realise that ...

Moving a range cooker

Took delivery of a new cooker today - 109cm x 62cm, 180kg. Currently in the hall as not quite ready for it in the kitchen.

At least, that was the original thought, as the plan was to trundle it in to a space in the kitchen, then when we were ready to do walls/floor/new units etc, trundle it out, fit the kitchen, trundle it back.

Plans now in tatters, as it trundles about as well ...

Hi everyone, thanks firstly to everyone who has posted info and advice on this site. I have read through a number of threads before and during the installation of my kitchen.

I have installed all the carcases to the kitchen and am having a fitter come at the weekend to join the tops. I wonder if any one has ever fitted Ikea Pragel Wallnut Effect and can tell me a good match with colorfill of ...

Wiring in an extractor fan

Hello,
I have just had a Lamona Extractor hood fitted above a lamona gas hob. The extractor is a HJA2450 and is recirculating. The fitter has put the fused spur within the chimney case where the fumes go. Is this a safe position for the electrics and how high above the hob should the hood be. Please advise.

Integrated appliances Q

I'd appreciate any advice/tips/gotchas/etc regarding installing full-size fully integrated washing machine, dishwasher & tumble drier:

1) 2 appliances next to each other, base units either side

2) 1 appliance on its own, i.e. no cabinets to either side, one side adjacent to a wall.

Positioning a hob in front of a window?

In combining a modest kitchen with a modest dining area, I have a space for a kitchen diner which has three windows. A suitable layout has been difficult to acheive, is it at all possible to position a hob in front of a window? I wonder if you had a completely non opening window, and a clear toughened glass 'splashback' could this work? My main objective is not the view as such, but to maintain ...
