Pelmet/Cornice Fitting

I have installed all of my

base and wall units, and I am about to embark on the tricky job of fitting the pelmets and cornice!

Could you give me a rundown on the procedure, and any hints and tips to avoid me doing it all wrong!

I am also after some "Aesthetic" advice. I have a run of wall & Base units which both end at the same point. This is the point at ...

Tiling a kitchen floor

Great site! And my first post.

You've probably been asked this a million times...

Is it best to completely tile a kitchen floor before installing new units, or should we wait until the new units are in place and then tile to just beyond

the plinths?

(Note that for the latter, we'd tile to the wall in the gaps where stand-alone appliances will sit).

I'm having a wee argy with my other half about this. ...

Carcassing - Screw or Dowel Construction

Hi

I wondered if you could help ? I am happy with the door range i require (PWS - Tivari Walnut) but in my quest to track down a supplier, i have found wide variations in carcassing.

I really like the spec in the link below :-

http://www.primrose.co.uk/primrose/specifications.htm

Unfortunately, they do not deliver outside Scotland.

The supplier below, however, is offering a great deal, but i don't know if ...

integrated appliances

Hi,

I am installing a fully integrated diswasher and washing machine side by side. Could you tell me the ideal gap that is needed to separate the two items? I am tight for space! Can they

physically touch?

Many thanks

Rob

Cost of fitting a kitchen worktop

I'm currently

in the process of fitting a kitchen. However my DIY skills don't stretch as far as routers and jigs, so I want to get a professional in to fit the worktop.

The units are fitted in a "U" shape, so what I require are 2 mitre joints, a cut out for a Belfast sink, a cut out for a hob and a straight cut along the depth of the worktop

(600mm). All walls ...

extractor fan

I haven't bought my extractor fan yet so I don't

have the instructions, but for planning does anyone know how much of a gap there must be from the hob to the height of the extractor ? I seem to remember 700mm

Thanks
Gary

height

Because my integrated Fridge feezer cabinet comes to 2070mm

high including the 150 plinth, I want my cabinets (720mm) to be at the same height at the top of the wall. This will mean leaving only a 400mm gap between the bottom of the wall cabs

and the worktop.

Is this OK ?

Gary
