HELP PLZ

Hi there all.

I am very interested in Kitchen design and was wondering if the trade experts/designers could enlighten me as to what design software they use.

When a kitchen shop/store do the designs for the customers...are these designs put together from software supplied by the kitchen manufacturer, or are there generic software packages

out there that are commercially available, with a range of manufacturers catalogues/maps which can be incorporated into the software.

For example ...

MFI Kitchen Installation

Tim, First of all, many thanks for

such an informative website, I have downloaded your installation guide and will have it to hand when I install my kitchen soon. You should have a helpline telephone number!!

I have bought a new Hygena kitchen from MFI, I hope that it will be a simple job to put together and install. My question is "Infill Pieces". When we had the plan designed,

because of the width of ...

Tim, thanks for the info on the jigsaw blades,

I'll have alook for them next time i visit my local diy store.
your comments on the MFI products were interesting, are they as bad as you seem to be saying or is it a question of comparing a Ford with a Rolls Royce?

worktops

could someone please tell me what is generally the best way to fit worktops that end (last 600mm of fitting) over a free standing appliance?

Magnet

Hi Tim,

What a great website for any Diy man intending to fit his/her own kitchen!!

I intend to buy a magnet kitchen in the near future and install it myself, have you had any experience of these?

I also plan to fit a stone tile floor throughout the kitchen and install the carcases ontop of this, is this common practice?

You mention in your install series, to clamp the two units either side of ...

Jigsaw blades

What a great site and how refreshing for a professional to share his knowledge with mere mortals!
In your article on worktop fitting you mention using a down cutting jigsaw blade, are these generally available and if so where from?

Can you let me know the cost of a Unit Saver for a 600 base please?

I'm thinking of installing some MFI Argyle units, are they any good?

Thanks.

Fixing a stainless steel splashback

Hi again,
Next job is to fix a stainless steel splashback. I have 750x600 mm one backed with board. The brief instructions indicate thta it can be screwed or "no nailed" to the wall.
2 questions, is "no nails" up to the job of holding a v.heavy sheet of metal?
Secondly, how best to screw fix it without spoiling the appearance?
Many thanks

Aggh! No baskets will fit into my larder!

So, after a months of horribleness, we have finally sacked or kitchen installers, and they have left the site. Yippee!

Or so I thought. The larder unit was fitted, but there are no internal fittings for it. For some reason, it is a really odd size (1705 high x 475 deep and 363 wide (internal

dimensions)).

We can find absolutely no fitting for this size larder: no larder pull outs and not even any individual ...
