Corian sink and Qooker instant hot water tap

Hi am thinking of corian sink ( bone ) and a qooker tap , however I am worried that as it is boiler water will it damage the corian sink? I know you have to use heat resistant pads with saucepans. Great web site by the way. :D

Quartz Radianz worksurface by Samsung.

Does anyone have any experience with Quartz radianz worktops by samsung?

Their samples looked great, however the quality now its fitted isnt so good.

Googling does not bring up much, apart from it being a fairly new product. Not had any experience of quartz until now, so not sure if the issues are 'features' or 'faults'.

Briefly there are ares of 'pitting' in the surface, white scratch marks under the polished surface (the quartz is ...

Use of Corian as a desk

I'm refitting a room as home office and want to have a full-width (wall-to-wall) desk under a window along the short wall. Span of 2300mm between masonry walls.
The plan is to support a worktop on battens fixed to the back & side walls. Would this be possible using Corian? Will Corian support its own weight or is there a chance of sagging? The surface will be used by computers, printers, books etc...

Thanks in ...

Scratch resistance - Corian

I'm planning on glacier white Corian worktops for the new kitchen but have been advised not to consider such a plain colour as in a very little time every mark & scratch will be glaringly obvious.

I know it's not scratch proof but do you have to treat it with kid gloves? I'd be grateful if anyone with this surface can comment on how easily it is scratched in normal use and just how obvious ...

Deeper downturn - Corian

Hello,

I believe standard Corian worktops are 13mm of Corian on a 25mm backing. With a deeper downturn to make the worktop look say 60mm deep is the backing increased to 47mm thick? I'm also wondering what impact this has on fitting an induction hob.

Thanks,

Gavin
