Removing fitted washing machine

Postby nfelisiak on Fri Aug 28, 2009 4:25 pm

I have a built-in machine which has a leak on the inlet pipe. Try as I might, I can't pull it forward by even a
millimetre. Short of dismantling the kitchen, how can I get it out?

You first need to disconnect the electricity supply and thewater feed hoses from the washing machine taps. Protect the floor surface in front with a piece of hardboard which you can lift the feet of the machine onto before sliding it out and when you have managed to pull it out so that you can access behind it with your arm, you will most likely be able to access the waste hose to unhook it from the waste pipe unless it is connected directly into your sink waste pipes, If so disconnect this also.
Integrated machines are manufactured for the purpose of streamlining the finished look of your kitchen and provide a more aesthetic addition to your design so they are not as easily accessible for repairs as a freestanding one would be so be patient. The leak may be from one of the feed hoses which may have worked loose or the hose washer has become worn or split. If so disconnect the hose, replace the washer and tighten hand tight before testing. Then slide back into place.
Hope this helps,

The problem is it won't slide forward. I've raised the front feet as far as I can (can't reach the back ones), and
tried levering it from side to side, but it just won't shift.

My feeling is that it is related to the connections because integrated washers, unlike dishwashers are not fixed to the cabinetry or worktops.
Have you disconnected all the waste, feeds and electrical connections?
