Replacing a built in fridge freezer

Postby nmeth on Thu Sep 03, 2009 7:21 pm

I have an existing built-in separate fridge and freezer (in a single unit, one above the other) - these are in a good condition MFI unit (so getting spare components for the carcass/doors is problematic). However the appliances themselves have issues and I want to replace them.

Never one to make things easy on myself I would like to replace these 2 appliances with a single fridge-freezer (an AEG SN918424I). It looks like this should just be a case of removing the middle shelf and front filler, and putting the new one in place - although I think I will need to add an inch of height at the bottom by putting a pair of shelves in just to lift it to get the height (and doors) right.

Am I overlooking anything obvious here? Would appreciate advice.

Nigel.

Nigel,
If the thickness of two shelves is correct for the alignment of your doors and appliance doors then you've got it spot on.
