under-counter fridge/freezer question.

Hi all

New kitchen coming this week, including door fronts for Neff undercounter fridge and freezer units. Although all the units will have a very heavy quartz worktop I'm just wondering what will stop the undercounter appliances moving slightly as they are not housed within units.
Both appliances will be situated between other carcasses but obviously they are not screwed back to the wall or housed within a unit.
I note that both appliances come with an aluminium strip that screws into the top of the appliance and I'm assuming into the bottom of the worktop to prevent movement. However I'm assuming wth quartz/granite that screws are not suitable. Silicon ??

Any advice welcome. many thanks.

Trying,

Welcome to the forum. You can affix a 130mm deep frontrail between the adjacent units spanning the appliances. This way you can fix the appliances from the underside and utilise the rail to apply adhesive to the underside of the quartz top. If you also fit two angle brackets(1" or 2") to the rear wall level with the unit topedge these will act as further support.

Many thanks for prompt reply.

The under counter units will be sited either side of a hob carcass but I understand what you mean by fixing a front rail. Would this rail not be visible under the quartz?

Do I need to use a piece of carcass filler for this front rail?

Trying to ensure that the under counter units look a "perfect" part of the integral kitchen with their front doors on. Dont really want to start using side panels as it will throw my measurements out.

Many thanks again .

It will only be as visible as the top rails on your new cabinets as the doors will cover the majority of the rail width.
Use an edged profile such as a piece of plinth or a filler or an end panel and cut it to the desired width and depth (130 - 150mm).
Screw through the adjacent carcasses to attach level with adjacent top rails.
To do this from top end, drill two angled holes that exite midway through the edge of the rail depth eg 18mmm (If the cabinets are 18mm spec), countersink the holes and screw through to the adjacent cabinets being careful not to align the screws with the screws on the cabinet you are fixing to. Ensure that the screw heads do not protrude.
I suggest, if using a 150mm panel, to drill the two holes about 45mm from each end of the rail depth.
Hope this is comprehensible.
