As a young City & Guilds Apprentice Plumber in the 1970s – Tim Foley became aware that the materials he was working with would have to change. Unsafe Lead was replaced by Copper and eventually Plastic entered the equation.
After embarking upon a career in kitchens, what he didn’t know was that it would take 40 years for the same changes to apply in his new industry.
What he couldn’t foresee back in those days was that words like “recyclable”, “eco” and “sustainable” would roll off the tongue of all of the trades he now liaises with.
Back then, only scientists and hippies talked about the importance of ecological impact on the environment – I was neither….”Tim Foley
Along that road to change, Tim Foley has fitted kitchens of every type and size across the length and breadth of the UK. He has been commissioned as a Project Consultant on a number of mainstream TV “make-over” programmes and has lead teams of fitters as a Contractor.
Founder of this website in 1999, one of the first of its kind online, writing and blogging about the kitchen and home industry, Tim has finally tied his colours to the mast and instead of encouraging the use of eco products on his projects – he now only works with and writes about eco related home products.
So, if you have a product – existing or in development – we would like to know about it and invite you to talk with us about it.
