We’re fortunate enough to overlook the Bridgewater Canal here at our offices in Manchester and one of the aspects that make the scenery all the more worthwhile is the flow of narrow boats that meander through the locks down to Castlefield.
To city folk like myself, these boats are a delightful addition to the city landscape and I was cheered to see that TV’s Coronation Street have included one in their storyline. Having declared myself a big fan (although just to look at, having never been on one in my life!) you can imagine our pleasure when one of these Great British icons played a part in raising our varied profile a kitchensfitted.co.uk.
Slow Pace is a narrow boat lovingly built by two couples who decided to document the process in a blog and among those credited with playing a part in fitting out the interior is ourselves, TFI, who fabricated and installed “Sparkly Black” quartz worktops in the kitchen and Beige quartz worktops in the bathroom. The results can be seen in the images below.
My congratulations go out to Chris and crew aboard Slow Pace for thier fantastic documentation of the process and to have been among the pioneers in the provision of Quartz worktops in a narrowboat brings us here at T Foley Interiors, great pleasure to have been a part of.
For the record Spectrum Black may be more familiar to you if I utilise it’s seemingly more common term, Sparkly Black quartz, or at least that’s what the majority of clients request when seeking a quote from us. The Sparkly term refers to the mirror flecks that are added in the process of manufacturing the surface slabs of most quartz offerings.
