Well, it's with great regret that I have to announce the removal of what I thought would become a ground breaking kitchen directory for consumers seeking suppliers who put faith in their products and services by providing a customer mission statement alongside their service or product offering. What better way, I thought, to attract customers than to assure them of a providers committed and public belief in their services and products. We even offered to promote successful applicant members for free and offer them an option to leave the directory after the three month free period was up if they did not attract visitors from our directory page. Green product manufacturers and services were to be promoted free of charge but all applicants had to provide a public mission statement and that, it seems, proved a step too far. It's a great pity because I received a great number of e-mails from consumers eager to utilise such a directory being all too aware that other directories were open to all regardless of the standard of service they offer and dependant entirely on handing over a sum of money for inclusion. The greater the fee - the higher the placement so as with most directories, the big retailers took up the top spots. Ours was going to be different. It would allow the smaller companies who were committed to good customer service and had faith in their products, to sit alongside bigger competitors who committed to the same and the advert size would remain the same. I felt sure that 16.000 unique visitors to our website per month would benefit from a revolutionary concept that allowed them greater peace of mind before making a purchase or hiring a service from a kitchen related business provider. Alas, it wasn't to be and I have to admit defeat but still strongly feel that businesses will have to show greater commitment to potential clients in an economic environment that demands it more than ever before. To all our visitors who e-mailed me regarding the directory I offer my apologies and if I receive a swell of applicants in the coming months to warrant the directory be reinstated then I'll announce it here first.
